Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TMPGen collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our service. We aim to be straightforward and only collect what we need to run the service well.
What data we collect
When you create an account and use TMPGen, we collect:
- Account information — your full name, email address, company name, phone number, and role (job title), entered at sign-up.
- Payment information — billing details handled by Stripe. Full card numbers are processed by Stripe and never touch our servers; we only store a customer reference and subscription status.
- Your drawings — the traffic management plans you create and save in the app.
- Basic usage data — sign-in events and timestamps recorded by Firebase Authentication.
- Cookies and local storage — we use browser local storage to save your session and app preferences (e.g. auto-save recovery). No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the TMPGen service and your account.
- Process subscription payments and manage trial / renewal / cancellation.
- Send transactional emails — welcome, trial-ending reminders, payment receipts, payment-failed notices, and cancellation confirmations.
- Respond to support requests when you contact us.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your drawings for any purpose other than serving them back to you.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to deliver TMPGen. Each receives only the minimum information needed to do its job:
- Stripe — payment processing. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's hosted checkout and never reach our servers.
- Google Firebase — authentication, database (Firestore) and file storage. Your account and your saved plans are stored here.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (account, billing, and trial notifications) sent from info@tmpgen.co.nz.
- Mapbox — map tile rendering. When you use the map view, your browser communicates with Mapbox to load map imagery. Mapbox may log request metadata (e.g. IP address) in accordance with their own privacy policy.
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and applicable security standards.
Data retention
We keep your account information and drawings for as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel your subscription, your saved plans are automatically deleted 30 days after cancellation — this gives you a grace period to resubscribe if you change your mind, then the data is removed by an automated cleanup job. You can also delete your account and all associated data immediately at any time from Settings → Billing → Delete Account.
Data breach notification
In the event of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm to individuals, we will notify affected users and report to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020
If you are in New Zealand (or your information is held by us in New Zealand), you have rights under the Privacy Act 2020, including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete.
- Request deletion of your information (subject to limited exceptions where we are required to keep records, e.g. tax invoices).
- Make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz) if you believe your rights have been breached.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below and we will respond within the timeframes required by the Act.
