Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TMPGen. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use TMPGen.

What TMPGen is

TMPGen is a web-based drawing tool for creating traffic management plans (TMPs) for use in New Zealand. It provides a map-based editor with signage and cone libraries, measurement tools, and PDF export — designed for use by traffic management professionals preparing TMPs in line with the New Zealand Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (CoPTTM), the New Zealand Guidelines for Temporary Traffic Management (NZGTTM), and other applicable standards.

Subscription terms

Acceptable use

TMPGen is provided for use in preparing traffic management plans for use in New Zealand, in accordance with CoPTTM, NZGTTM, and other relevant standards and the requirements of the relevant road controlling authority. By using TMPGen you agree:

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any TMP you create using the tool complies with applicable regulations, road controlling authority requirements, and site-specific conditions before it is used on the road. TMPGen is a drawing tool, not a substitute for professional judgement.

No guarantee of uptime

We work to keep TMPGen available, but we make no guarantee of uptime or uninterrupted service. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses (including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption) arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 to the extent it applies.

Data deletion policy

If you cancel your subscription, your saved plans are automatically deleted 30 days after cancellation by an automated daily cleanup job — this gives you a grace period to resubscribe if you change your mind. You can also delete your account and all data immediately at any time from Settings → Billing → Delete Account. Once deleted, data cannot be recovered.

See the Privacy Policy for more on what data we hold and how to access or correct it.

Data breach notification

In the event of a privacy breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Governing law

These Terms, and any dispute arising from or in connection with your use of TMPGen, are governed by the laws of New Zealand and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
